Publication and Comment Schedule
Update for November 15, 2024
- USP has updated the look and feel of the Tutorials and Additional Information section of the Dashboard homepage. Newly added information includes the following tiles:
- USP-NF Standards Updates
- Searching the USP-NF Platform Tutorial
- Updating the USP-NF/PF Online Application Tutorial
- Navigating the USP-NF/PF Tutorial
- Some bookmarks were not rendering correctly on the site and have been restored (see details under "Known Issues" section)

USP has fixed several knows issues reported on September 27, 2024. Please see notations below for items that have been corrected.
Update for October 2, 2024
With the new enhancement launch on September 27, USP has removed the “page information” section of auxiliary information for all Documentary Standards. New Enhancements for September 27, 2024
- USP has released the new platform for USP–NF/PF Online. The new site will continue to deliver USP–NF and PF with the same user experience while providing a more responsive and stable system. While it won’t look like much has changed, this is a major step to allow USP to deliver future enhancements and functionality in the years to come.
- Profile data (bookmarks, alerts, saved searches, and draft/submitted comments) have transferred to the new platform. Viewing activity was not transferred. Upon logging into the site on September 27, 2024, users will not see past viewing activity.
- Search functionality and performance has been improved. Users should see faster search results loading (New and Changed and any search page). For assistance in modifying search, users should refer to the following help pages:

- New and Changed Enhancements
- Users can now access all Documentary Standard revisions in the USP–NF/PF Online through the New and Changed additional filter. When the user clears the defaulted filters, all documents within the platform will be displayed for viewing. In previous versions of the platform only two years of data was searchable (unless a * search was conducted).
- Users will also see a new defaulted filter called “New and Changed Eligible.” This filter excludes any front matter files or other documents that are not required for compliance. The user has the option of seeing these non-required files by selecting “Front Matter, etc.” filter from the newly added “New and Changed” facet under Additional Filters, or clearing all filters.
Known Issues
- Combined PDFs are available under the following categories: Volumetric Solutions, Test Solutions, and Chromatographic Columns. For those with a Spanish subscription, these PDFs will download in English due to the timing of the translations.
- Subscribers to the Spanish-only product (no English subscription access) will no longer be able to toggle to the English version of the document via the Tools panel. Users will still be able to switch to English via the language toggle located on the top navigation bar.
- FIXED: Users may see a message under “bookmarks” on the dashboard My Resources area that reads: “Bookmarks previously set are no longer available in this build.” This occurs when a past bookmark was been removed from the platform. A fix has been identified and will be deployed in a later release.
Notes from Previous Releases of USP–NF Online
- For files that have a USP41-NF36 revision that were superseded by an Accelerated Revision in the November, December, and January monthly posting, the entire document is currently official as of May 1, 2018. Any earlier official date that displays in the official status banner is based on the Accelerated Revision.
- Files with August 2017 and October 2017 Accelerated Revisions were included with the USP 41-NF 36 1S online publication, per the normal Accelerated Revision publishing schedule. These files, which were technically revised via Errata or Revision Bulletin, will not receive an Accelerated Revision icon as the online system views them as part of the USP 41-NF 36 1S online publication.
- If a reagent title (or cross reference title) is not appearing in the navigation menu, please use the search function to find the reagent.
- For the most accurate list of new and revised content in USP 41-NF 36, USP 41-NF 36 1S, USP 41-NF 36 2S, and USP 42-NF 37 please use the Annotated lists for those publications. There is a known issue with the New and Changed lists for these specific publications.
Fixed
- Fixed: Under the main TOC, the functionality of the Resources scroll bar is currently disabled. If a user tries to click the scroll bar to move through the options, the window will close. Alternatively, users can use the mouse wheel/trackpad/keyboard up/down keys to scroll the resources.
- Fixed: When saving comments with larger attachments, users may see a delay in the submission of comments. The comment button should not be re-clicked; a notification window will appear once the comment is submitted.
- Fixed: Equation rendering: users might need to refresh the page if they see overlapping/crashing text in equations.
- Fixed: Subscribers to the Spanish product (single license or combo license) may see icons for comments (Commenting Open and Commenting Closed), which relate to the Pharmacopeial Forum revisions that are not accessible to Spanish users and require either a free or paid subscription to English.
- Fixed: Users can have three concurrent sessions to the products at one time, when they reach this limit, they should see messaging indicating that they should log out of one of the other sessions. Instead of seeing that message the user will get an error page that reads “This page isn’t working.” User logins automatically close after 90 minutes of inactivity. Users can wait until the sessions clear or contact USP help desk to have their sessions ended.
- Fixed: There is a known issue with the new search highlighting feature that does not work with our equation software. When searching for a title, if you encounter an equation that appears similar to the following, please navigate to that title from the main alphabetical Table of Contents.
- Fixed: In the event that a "No Longer Official" version of a file displays a backwards date range (i.e., Official from 1-May-2018 to 30-Apr-2018) this version is to be considered "Never Official". Revisions will now correctly appear as “Never Official”.
- Fixed: We are aware of the following files that contain multiple revisions with differing official dates. Please access both the "Currently Official" and "To be Official" versions to see all currently official text.

- Fixed: From the dashboard, "Events and Training" is displaying links to out dated events.
- Fixed: Some files may not show up in the "My Viewing Activity" located on the dashboard, however they can be bookmarked.
- Fixed: The following 41 titles were not appearing in the USP 41-NF 36 1S and USP 41-NF 36 2S navigational Table of Contents from June 18, 2018 until June 29, 2018. All versions of these files with the correct official dates and statuses were available in the online product from the USP 41-NF 36 navigational table of contents and available via the search tool.
