The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) will be holding their first Prescription/Nonprescription Stakeholder Forum of the 2010–2015 Cycle of the Council of Experts on November 2–3, 2010, at its Rockville, MD, headquarters.

This meeting represents the first Stakeholder Forum under the Rules and Procedures of the 2010–2015 USP Council of Experts. As part of an effort by USP to broaden participation in its Stakeholder Forums, these new Rules allow individuals to register for the Stakeholder Forum as representatives of organizations, companies, and service providers. Individuals wishing to register for the Stakeholder Forum can go to http://events.SignUp4.net/pnpsf.

Stakeholder Forums are formed to enable an exchange of information and perspectives, with the ultimate goal of improving USP standards and information. The Prescription/Nonprescription Stakeholder Forum provides an opportunity to discuss compendial issues related to prescription and non-prescription drugs and pharmaceutical excipients in an open forum setting. The Food Ingredient Stakeholder Forum will meet at USP on December 3, 2010. A meeting of the Dietary Supplement Stakeholder Forum will be scheduled for spring of 2011.
