Revision Bulletins to be Posted Bimonthly

Type of Posting: General Announcement

Posting Date: 31–Aug–2012

Effective immediately, USP will post Revision Bulletins on a bimonthly basis rather than on a monthly basis. With this change, Revision Bulletins routinely will be posted every other month (July, September, etc.) unless a need arises for an urgent revision, such as one related to patient safety. This change also applies to FCC’s Immediate Standards.

This change is the result of the continued evaluation of USP’s revision and publications schedules, and is being made in order to simplify the interactions of staff, Expert Volunteers, and stakeholders who are engaged in USP’s standards-setting processes. This change is accompanied by a revision to USP’s Guideline on Use of Accelerated Processes for Revisions to the USP–NF.

USP’s Accelerated Revision processes are used to make revisions to the United States Pharmacopeia and the National Formulary (USP–NF) and FCC official more quickly than through the Standard Revision Process. More information, including a link to the Accelerated Revision Guideline, can be found here. Information on FCC’s Accelerated Revision Process can be found here.
